My oldest daughter has this thing that she inherits from her father. For me it is a day to day constant struggle because it is not easy to deal with forgetfulness. Don’t get me wrong I love her from here to the moon and back. So much is my love for her and her sister that I came out with this easy D.I.Y. of a mirror chalkboard post-it!!! A W-H-A-T???
Emma has a large mirror on her room which she uses first thing in the morning (like every pre-pre-teenager). So I figured she could start her day reading mommy’s friendly reminder.
For this you will need these metarials:
- Ruler
- Martha Stewart chalkboard paint
- Scotch Blue Painter’s Tape
- Foam brush
- Marker
First I measured the area to be painted and then masked it with ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape. The best part of using this tape is, that when the paint is dry and you remove it, it won’t bring any with it. After masking, paint the area using the chalkboard paint. Make sure to follow the instructions for drying times. This paint finish is so soft and wonderful that now I want to chalkboard everything.
I decided to add a little stencil design to decorated the area. After that, the Post-it chalkboard was ready for Emma’s first message. I hope this new invention of mine help her to be less forgetful. Fingers cross!
I would like to send a BIG THANKS to ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape for sending me their wonderful product for reviewing it. I certainly enjoyed doing this project.
